Remove Bush writes:
Wed 1 June 2005 – Remove George Bush Day

Be part of a coordinated effort to remove Bush. Hit the media and politicians hard. Try it !

Join possibly the biggest rally against Bush that the world will ever see. The aim is for all of us to speak against Bush with ‘ONE VERY LOUD VOICE’ via millions of emails to all American media news desks and politicians on Wed 1 June 2005. I’ve already contacted hundreds of activist organisations across the world but also need your help NOW.

1. Email everyone you know asking them to email everyone they know (blind copy them if you like and aim for local and overseas people).

Protest annual Wal-Mart shareholder's meeting in Arkansas

When: June 2-3, 2005

Where: Fayetteville, Arkansas, University of Arkansas,
Bud Walton Arena (yes, the brother of Sam Walton has an arena named after him on a state school's campus)

Why: Take the heat to Wal-Mart's home territory:
Northwest Arkansas. Meet other progressives, WM activists, and labor folks. Last year, people came
from New York, California, and Canada to greet Wal-Mart's shareholders.

"Mourning Marla"
Jill Carroll, Christian Science Monitor, April 18, 2005.

Intrepid humanitarian aid worker Marla Ruzicka died in Baghdad Saturday when her car was caught in an insurgent attack.

Californian Marla Ruzicka was the head of an NGO whose blend of tenacity and optimism kept her in Iraq long after almost every other humanitarian aid organization had left.

Marla and her Iraqi driver died Saturday when their car was tragically caught between a suicide car bomber and a US military convoy.

If you are having trouble accessing the info exchange these days, we are sorry.

We are working on fixing some very strange and rather unexplained trouble.

It is probably related to some strange code conflict related to a recent upgrade.

please come back soon.

An Unauthorized Biography of the World explores the practice of engaged oral history: the difficult, sometimes dangerous work of recovering fragments of human story that have gone missing from the official versions. Michael Riordon has thirty years' experience as a writer and broadcaster in the field. Readers will encounter a gallery of brave, passionate people who gather silenced voices and lost life stories. The canvas is broad, the stakes are high: the battles for First Nations lands in Canada; environmental justice in Chicago; genocide in Peru; homeless people organizing in Cleveland; September 11/01, and after, in New York City; gay survivors of electroshock in Britain; the struggle to preserve a people's identity in Newfoundland; peasant resistance to a huge transnational gold mine in Turkey.

What’s SoS? A simple thing. A beautiful thing. A way to share your stuff with others... while meeting physically, having a chat and generally enjoying the view.

You are already doing it! Everyone shares information and copies stuff for each other as gifts (legally, of course). Organising a Shivers of Sharing meeting is an opportunity to take that activity out and do it in public venues. Shivers of Sharing are already spreading accross Europe. Kuda in Novi Sad, Serbia will be hosting SoS Novi Sad #1 some time between 21-22 March 2005. Next London SoS is scheduled for 27 March 2005. More here
