Support Mine Workers and the Earth in Richmond on

Citizens' Coal Council writes "Join
members of the Citizens' Coal Council, members of the UMWA, and other concerned
citizens at the Massey Company Stockholders' Meeting on April 16.

Buses
will be leaving from Southwest Virginia! The ride and meals will be provided by
UMWA and the Citizens' Coal Council.

Want
to have some fun? Sure you do. So plan on joining citizens groups from WV and
KY, UMWA members from WV, KY and VA, and other concerned citizens from VA and
DC at the rally to tell the stockholders of Massey Energy what a truly
irresponsible company they are involved with. The rally will occur at the
Jefferson Hotel, site of the Massey Stockholders meeting, beginning at
approximately 9 am on April 16th and lasting until ?

Massey
Energy subsidiary, Martin County Coal, is responsible for the 300,000 gallons
of slurry spilled into the Big Sandy watershed in KY. The spill has been
identified as the worst environmental spill in southeastern U.S. history. Other
subsidiaries in WV have repeatedly been fined for numerous black water spills
and just recently the WV Surface Mine Board ordered one of their major
subsidiaries to seize operations for nine days because of a pattern of
violations.

Most
seriously, Massey companies neither care about the safety of their workers or
the welfare of the communities they operate in. Recent statistics indicate that
Massey companies were responsible for nearly 40% of the mine fatalities in WV.

SO,
JOIN WITH OTHERS TO LET MASSEY STOCKHOLDERS KNOW WHAT A POOR CORPORATE NEIGHBOR
THEY ARE!

9
am, April 16th - look for the crowd of angry citizens at the Jefferson Hotel!
