Call for Help for Anti-WEF "Arts in Action" Projects

Topple the WEF with puppets and props! We have some amazing art happening, but there is so much to be created/finished and rehearsed in the coming days. The more vibrant, explosive, and theatrical our pageant, the more successfull -- and powerful -- it will be. These are some of our best tools to get our messages out in a positive way. Please mobilize yourself and your friends this week to do street theater and make puppets! All of these elements will be key in making the WEF actions effective. We also really need people who can pick up cardboard tubes from garment or fabric stores/shops and big flats of cardboard. Anything you can contribute: time, paint, fabric, music -- everyone is welcome!

Neighbors, artists, co-workers, dancers, activists,
musicians, family, affinity groups, performers,
arts/performance groups and friends are joining
together to make large scale art and theater in the
streets of New York City during the World Economic
Forum. Join us in creating and performing positive,
inspiring images, theater, music and words that expose
how the World Economic Forum and corporate
globalization hurt our communities, to show that a
better world is possible, and to win the hearts and
minds of our communities. We will be making art and
puppets and doing rehearsals all week to create a
giant street theater pageant and procession for events
on Thursday Jan 31, Friday Feb 1, and for the Saturday
Feb 2, 12 noon Rally and March from 59th and Fifth. A
global movement of resistance, creativity and positive
alternatives is rising up to create a better world.
Join us!
