More recently, other analysts, correspondents and pundits are suggesting that the capitulation and defeat of the Taliban and Al Qaida is leading to a generalized disillusionment with the jehadi parties and their programs; introspection among muslim people world-wide; and perhaps a renewed openness to values presumptuously claimed by the West: reason, secularism, democracy.
