Featured Short Film:
Oscar
Dir. Sergio Morkin. 2004. 61 min. Video. (Argentina)
Oscar is a taxi driver, family man, and intrepid guerilla artist who rebels against the bombardment of advertisements in Buenos Aires. In doing so, he attracts attention from both the media and academia as an artist/activist whose story resonates throughout the city and beyond. But can he pay his bills without selling out?

Featured Band:
The Black Angels
Quasi-Retro Aesthetic: The Black Angels demonstrated a knack for crafting memorable psychedelic-inflected pop. Formed in May of 2004, the Black Angels are comprised of Christian Bland (guitar), Alex Maas (vocals), Stephanie Bailey (drums and percussion), Jennifer Raines (drone machine), and Nate Ryan (bass, guitar). Building sonic altars to the Velvet Underground, Pink Floyd, Bob Dylan, the 13th Floor Elevators, Jesus & Mary Chain, and Joy Division appears to be the Black Angels' divine inspirational calling.
The youthful 5-piece group have accumulated a mass of loyal followers that have flocked to their self-described "Drone 'n' Roll" music and multimedia performances.
