Ottawa, Sept. 12, 2005
Premiere screening (By Invitation Only) in Canada of "Mistaken Identity:Sikhs in America" on 12 September.
It will commemorate the 4th anniversary of 9/11 and 2nd month of 7/7 in London, UK. Member of Parliament, Honorable David Kilgour, MP, will be hosting the "Unity in Diversity" event from 3–5 PM, at the House of Commons, Parliament Hill, Room 200, West Block, Ottawa, Ontario. There will be a 15 minutes press conference before the 3:30 screening, where MP Kilgour will announce the need for more "unity in cultural and religious diversity" in Canada and the world. After the film, there will be 30 min for Q & A and network in discuss in short 3 mins.A series of "Unity in Diversity" awards will be given to the following organizations:
1. The Bag Lady www.bagladyit.org (Cardiff, Wales, UK) that sponsored the website: www.cultural-diversity.co.uk. It is the leading #1 Internet Portal for UK and EU women in business.
2. CITIGroup, London, UK, sponsored the major screenings by the British women in film and TV on 19 April 2004 at the Channel 4 studio and other major screenings in Bedford, Birmingham, etc.
3. Jaya Foundation, Detroit, MI, sponsored the trip around the UK for six months in 2004 and publishing the brochures, postcards and flyers.
4. Punjab American Heritage Association, Yuba City, CA with the initial funding of the pre-production of the film with a check of $15,000.
5. Sikh Cultural Society, Inc, New York, USA. for joining hands in promoting the film in the USA and UK.
New York and UK filmmakers of "Celebrating Cultural Diversity" will give the "Unity in Diversity" award to the Honorable David Kilgour for his career in promoting multicultural and religious diversity in Canada and worldwide ... His comments are available in the press kit.
