South East Asian Anarchist Contingent (Gathering in Malaysia)

We'll be having an Inter-Border event next month in September (late Sept. to be exact till October onwards..) We're inviting Asian countries to participate on this event, we specifically wanna get more wimmin involved too and of course the
gathering will be inclusive to anyone who wanna help us establish this Network in Asia, we certainly need assistance to facilitate and make workshops as this happens to be our first initiative to meet up collectives and individuals across and beyon Asia. Attached on this email is the explanation bout the event and the invitation letter. Some parts of the letter you will notice has specifically pointed out south east asian countries b'coz they're the first ones to discuss and contact each other for this event.

We look forward to our friends participation on this gathering, since the highlight of this event is to come up with concrete actions
against the WTO in HongKong by december and to establish a network to strengthen solidarity amongst Asian countries. Looking forward to

What is the Inter-Border Initiative:

- Early this year we sent an invitation to our contacts in Indonesia expressing our initiative to host a converging activity amongst Asians. This is an effort of solidifying the connection between the 2 aktiv anarchist momentum based anarcho formations. These process have been contextualized in building an informal initiative, for an exchange of participation in both pre-structural movements.

There have been attempts on collaborative work involving a hosting of Web site & the creation of the AA-network, which is regarded as a stepping stone for a supposed development ties for both parties. While there have been different contextualization on these, the goal remains right on the track. An Inter-border must occur in some way, in a
proposal being sent early this year-it also suggest to take advantage of the resources
available.

Different mode of actions & efforts, some more dubious than others. Still a project that requires committment. On the grasp of the
situation
following this, many questions can be raised. So we are inviting you to this dialogue..

On the Issue about the WTO:

An Article ran in japan indymedia detailing the Japan & Manila
Organization ties, solidarity & actions. At this moment, leftist
organizations in manila are already planning ahead of the WTO
Ministerial in China this December. What wasn’t published in the site is the info coming from the *WTO Page itself.

On the 13-18th of December
The Hong Kong Ministerial Conference will be held in the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre in the Wanchai District of Hong Kong.

The challenge is to find other Anarchist in Asia expected to
Participate in this Historic event. Not becoz there isnt alot of noize coming from the south east asian anarchist, it doesn’t mean we are skid out of the Coming events.

On our position on the WTO. We have a separate discussion & have held meetings with collectives & individuals in our lokal network on this topic. This year China has a multimillion $$ mining investment in the philippine soil. We are looking forward in working with anarchist in other countries interested in taking action against the WTO.

Our Initiative (A-Manila):

-Aside from the proposals, to help facilitate the meetings.

-The initiative of the Inter-Border (some of us are already preparing…)

-Which is another proposal to host it between Philippines & Indonesia. -offering a mailing list called SEAACT for non-corporate host@portal. -Assist, instigate & motivate others!

Any Leads on this how an asian anarchist network is developing?

-Solidarity South Pacific (active in outreach on anarchist
related-issues) worked in indigenous struggles.

-Gaizao.org which is arming as media portal if not, the infoshop.org in Asia, linking to grassroots & infos on many countries.

-Network for Asian Liberation, anarchist specific & anti civ ideas incorporating direct action. -The franchising of many
indymedias all over asia, and has become a tool & resources for
anarchist collectives. (this is just a brief summary, i may have
neglected some other aspects for discussions on this particular matter is welcomed)

As we see it, on the upcoming months the- political band wagon would Start to engage & invest on this. Personally, i don’t want to be
Represented by supposedly social movements that have become as worse as

Globalization itself. As anarchist, I want to reaffirm this. It is not odd that anarchists have sparked from the most unexpected places & under the most repressive regimes in south east Asia. I leave many ideas to share for a discussion for possible allies in a contingent made of brothers in arms for the blackend flag.

We don’t want to become another mere spectator of another turningpoint in history.. or do we?
