Turkish Socialist Economics Congress, Istanbul, Dec. 17–18, 2005

The working groups of the Socialist Economics Congress in Turkey are being
formed The first SEC meets in December.


The Socialist Economics Congress in Turkey (SEC) is going to be held in
Istanbul, on December 17 and 18.


SEC is aiming at bringing socialist economists and intellectuals together in
order to analyze the current problems of world economy in general, and of
Turkish economy in particular so as to discuss alternative policies and to
make the socialist alternative concrete.The Consultative Committee of the SEC, which is organized by the Left
Council and the University Councils Association, is comprised by the
following economists and intellectuals: Ahmet Haşim Köse, Ahmet Öncü, Alper
Birdal, Ayfer Eğilmez, Aziz Hatman, Burçak Özoğlu, E. Ahmet Tonak, Erhan
Karaçay, Erinç Yeldan, Erkin Özalp, İlker Belek, İzzettin Önder, Korkut
Boratav, Mesut Odman, Nail Satlıgan, Nihat Falay, Perihan Sarı, Özgür
Müftüoğlu, Öztin Akgüç, Tahir Öngür, Tevfik Çavdar, Yücel Çağlar.


The SEC will have international participants and supporters, as well as
working groups that are going to be established in several countries.
