A New World in Our Hearts: Building for Revolution May Day Conference will be held in NYC Thursday, April 28 – May 1
There will be workshops, skill shares, music, a really free market, a critical mass bike ride, parties, speakers, films, a soccer tournament and more
Some of the workshops we will be hosting:
-Bridging the Generational Divide: An open dialogue between older and younger radicals with Ashanti Alston.
-The A-word: Is Anarcho-pride Always a Good Thing? With the Curious George Brigade
-Networking: In what ways can radicals in different areas coordinate and work together better?
-Anarchy and architecture with Professor Lebbeus Woods
-Actively Supporting Political Prisoners
- Are computers secure? When and for what?
-Welding with Time’s Up!
-Building Permanent Autonomous Zones: creating the infrastructure to support a successful revolutionary movement.
-Blogging the revolution: anarchists on the web, the potential and the limitations.
-Radical mental health with Sascha Debrul Altman of the Icarus Project.
-Outreach: How can we build a larger and more inclusive revolutionary movement?
-Free School education with a representative from the Brooklyn Free School.
-The ethics of eating; veganism or freeganism.
-Bicycle repair and maintenance with Times Up!
-Silkscreen printing
This is just a taste of the workshops and events to come. Workshops involving gender dynamics, security culture, race, and class issues and much more are in the making, as well as actions and events, both fun and serious. If you would like to propose a workshop or have any suggestions please contact us.
Guerilla workshop space will also be available for those who don’t organize with us ahead of time.
