Approx. 50 anarchists from all over Sweden gathered for the first national
meeting of Swedish Anarchist Federation (SAF) on September 22-23. The idea
behind this federation is to unite the anarchist forces in Sweden. SAF
will organise existing groups as well as individuals and everyone who
wants to start a new SAF local is very welcome. SAF has also got a mailing
list in which you can participate.

During the first national meeting, a federation platform was passed:

"We in SAF are anarchists. Therefore we work for a libertarian socialist
society in which all persons are equal. A society which is ecological and
in which everyone will participate in decisions they are concerned with.
We believe that neither capitalism nor any form of parliamentarism can
realize this. We are against any forms of oppression and discrimination
and we fight the social and economic structure who form the present
society."

The federation will organize annual national meetings, but since there is
much to discuss during the start phase, the next meeting will take place
sooner than in one year.
