at NYC Urban Experience Museum
Four black & white photographs by Adrienne Moumin will be included in an upcoming show at the NYC Urban Experience Museum. Ms. Moumin’s Project, Do You See What I See: Women’s Bodies in Advertising, 1992-2000, deals with the ways in which women’s bodies are used as advertising in public places throughout New York City.
From December 6 through December 20, 2002, the NYC Urban Experience Museum will host Cat Calls, a provocative, interactive exhibition that explores the behavior known as catcalling and its effect on women and young girls. The exhibition opening will take place on December 6th at 8pm.
The exhibit will be presented by Red Clay Arts, Inc., a Brooklyn-based non-profit arts organization dedicated to providing platforms for emerging vanguard, new media (including new uses of traditional media) and experimental artistic expression through exhibitions and events. Jenga Mwendo is curating the exhibition.
The NYC Urban Experience Museum is located at 85 South Street, and is open Monday through Saturday from 12-7 PM. Admission is free. [212/514-5700; http://www.nycurbanexperience.org/.] Red Clay Arts is located at 334 Grand Avenue in Brooklyn, NY. [718/398-1500; http://www.redclayarts.com]"
