The journal Historical Materialism, in cooperation with the Centre for Diplomacy and
International Studies (SOAS) invites you to a one-day conference on "An Anatomy of the World Crisis" on Saturday 2 November, 2002, with Robert Brenner to
discuss the themes and questions raised by his book The Boom and the Bubble
(Verso, 2002).

Globalisation and its Discontents2 - Booking details

Registration is 12 waged, 5 unwaged. Payment must be made by cheque in
advance, or by cheque or cash on the door. For multiple bookings, please
specify the number of tickets required, and include a cheque for the global
figure.



Tickets will be posted to you if your booking is received before Monday 28th
October. Tickets for bookings received after this date will be held at the
registration desk at Sallis Benney Theatre for collection on Sunday 3
November. This desk will be open from 9.30am. Any remaining tickets will be
available on the day from the registration desk. Call 07816 921105 for
availability.


Note: places in individual workshops cannot be booked in advance it is
strictly first come, first served. You should get to the venue for the
meeting in good time.

All published contributors were confirmed at the time of printing.


A final timetable will be available on Sunday 3rd November, and the

Refreshments are not included in the ticket price, but are on sale at the
Sallis Benney Theatre throughout the day.

Details of how to get here:

The conference takes place at the Sallis Benney Theatre, Grand Parade, & at
The School of Historical & Critical Studies (SHACS), Pavilion Parade. Both
are sites of the Faculty of Arts and Architecture at the University of
Brighton, on the South Coast of the UK. Registration is at the Sallis Benney
Theatre, which is on Grand Parade, close to the Royal Pavilion, and opposite
the King and Queen public house.


There are fast trains from London, Victoria, to Brighton, which take 55
minutes. Slow trains take 85 minutes. There is also a coach service from
London to Brighton. The conference venue is 12 minutes walk from the
railway station and 5 minutes from the bus station. International visitors
should arrive at Gatwick airport, which is 30 minutes from Brighton.



The Sallis Benney Theatre, which is part of the main Faculty of Arts and
Architecture building, is situated on Grand Parade on the corner of , &
SHACS is 5 minutes walk away, on the corner of Pavilion Parade & Pavilion
Street, opposite the Royal Pavilion. Its entrance is on Pavilion Street.
Most local bus routes stop by the Royal Pavilion (in both directions). The
Sallis Benney Theatre is wheelchair accessible. Unfortunately, SHACS is not.
