The Black is Back Coalition March on DC
Resist U.S. Wars and Occupation
in the U.S. and Abroad! Reparations Now!
Saturday, November 7, 10AM
Malcolm X Park, 16th St NW & Euclid St NW
Washington, DC
Call to All Peace- and Justice-loving people
Join and donate resources to the march on Saturday, November 7 at 10 am in Washington, D.C., sponsored by the Black is Back Coalition for Social Justice, Peace and Reparations under the banner:Resist U.S. Wars and Occupation in the U.S. and abroad! Reparations Now!
For the first time since the 1960s, a broad-based, anti-imperialist black coalition is leading a movement to mobilize against U.S. colonial wars around the world and against black and oppressed peoples inside this country. Black is Back is marching against the Obama administration’s military escalations against oppressed peoples everywhere and for reparations now!
This is not just a call for imperialist “peace,” but for victory to national liberation movements around the world and inside this country whose land was stolen from the indigenous people and whose economy was built on the enslavement of African people.
The Black is Back Coalition states:
“We must act because the Obama regime has expanded the U.S. wars against the peoples of Afghanistan and Pakistan and continue to occupy Iraq against the will of the Iraqi people.
“We must act because one out of every three young African men within the U.S. is tied to the profitable prison system. Our young people are placed there by an America that has never acknowledged its crimes of slavery, oppression and deprivation stemming from the brutal, genocidal economic exploitation of slavery, convict leasing, sharecropping and subhuman wages.”
Partial list of Demands
- Immediate withdrawal of U.S. troops from the Middle East
- End U.S. wars and occupations inside the U.S. and abroad
- Reparations Now!
- End U.S. backing of Israel; support for the Palestinian people
- Free all black political prisoners, including Mumia Abu Jamal and Sundiata Acoli
