suburban jungle writes "This weekend Long Islanders will converge for two days of alternative culture and ideas: the purpose of which is to construction visions and plans for a fundamentally new long island and new world. Information follows.

Modern Times Collective Meeting: to plan for the peoples strike, actions against the IMF/World Bank in late Sept.

celebration of the underdog! FEATURING interviews with: Lydia Lunch,
Ian MacKaye, j mascis, Jim Rose, J.G.Thirlwell, Mike Watt, Ron Asheton (Stooges), Dave Brockie (Gwar) and more.

Over Labor Day Weekend 2002 Long Island artists & activists will be converging for two days of alternative culture & ideas. Cutting-edge work from local artists will be displayed, the DIY flea market will return, an independent film will be shown, round-table discussions will take place, ¹the kids¹ will be found gyrating at the PANIC: Dance Party, vegan & vegetarian food will be shared, relationships will be formed, and the movement to create the Islands first social center, the Freespace, will take another important step. This is a convergence to begin to discuss the world we want and to begin moving toward it!


DIRECTIONS:
by LIRR: take the LIRR to Mineola, walk 1 block south from the station and make a right on old country rd. continuing going west until you see a water tower on your left and the ethical building immediately after.
By CAR: take NS/LIE to meadowbrook pkwy south, SS to MB Pkwy north, exit meadowbrook at old country rd going westä go past the mall, past the court houses, you will see a water tower on your left and the ethical building immediately after, if you go to far old country rd ends about 2 min after ethical!
